Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. Introduction
NoSpoilerHighlights.com ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use this website, how it is used, and who it is shared with. By using NoSpoilerHighlights.com you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
2. We do not require an account
There is no sign up, no login, and no user account. We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal detail, and we do not build a profile of you.
3. Information stored in your browser
If you mark a team or competition as a favourite, that choice is saved in your browser using local storage. It stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data for this site.
4. Region detection
Football broadcast rights differ by country, so the highlight videos available to you depend on where you are. To show you videos that can actually play in your country, we determine your approximate country as follows:
- Where our hosting provider supplies an approximate country for the request, we use that.
- Otherwise we look up the country associated with your IP address using the third-party service ipapi.co. Only your IP address is sent, and only to determine a country code.
We use this to select which cached video results to show you. We do not store your IP address alongside your browsing activity, and we do not use it to identify you.
5. YouTube API services
This site uses the YouTube Data API v3 to find highlight videos, and embeds the YouTube player so you can watch them. Two separate things happen, and the distinction matters for your privacy:
- Searching happens on our servers, not in your browser. Results are cached and shared between everyone in the same country, so YouTube does not receive information about you individually when a search runs.
- Playback happens in an embedded YouTube player loaded directly from YouTube. At that point YouTube receives your IP address, device and browser information, and may set cookies, exactly as it would if you watched the video on YouTube itself. This is outside our control and is governed by Google's own policies.
You can review Google's Privacy Policy for how Google and YouTube handle data, and you can manage or revoke the data YouTube holds about you through the Google security settings page.
6. Analytics
We use analytics to measure aggregate usage, such as page views and navigation paths. It is configured so that:
- No cookie or persistent identifier is stored on your device.
- Visits are not linked across pages, sessions or devices, so no profile is created.
- Full IP addresses are not retained.
- No data is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
The resulting data is aggregate and cannot be attributed to an individual. It is therefore not personal data and requires no consent.
7. Cookies
We set no cookies. Our analytics sets none. The embedded YouTube player may set cookies when you play a video.
8. Where our football data comes from
Fixture and team information is sourced from api-football, and background text about teams and competitions is derived from Wikipedia. These are sources we read from. They receive no information about you.
9. Data sharing
We do not sell, trade or rent information about you. Three third parties receive data in connection with your visit: our analytics provider, which receives anonymous aggregate usage data; YouTube, when you play a video; and ipapi.co, where your country cannot be resolved by our hosting provider.
10. Your rights under the GDPR
NoSpoilerHighlights.com is operated from the Netherlands by CPJ Development, the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR. Contact: privacy [at] cianjansen [dot] com.
We operate no user accounts and no advertising. Our analytics sets no cookie or persistent identifier and builds no profile. Its output is aggregate and falls outside the definition of personal data. Favourites are stored in your browser and are not transmitted to us. Your IP address is processed transiently to resolve a country code for video availability, and is not retained or associated with browsing activity. The legal basis for that processing is legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f).
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability in respect of any personal data we hold. Requests may be sent to the address above and will be answered within one month.
Two transfers occur. Your IP address is sent to ipapi.co where your country cannot be resolved by our hosting provider, and the embedded YouTube player transmits data to Google on playback. Both may involve processing outside the European Economic Area.
Complaints may be lodged with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here along with a revised date at the top of this page.
