Qarabag competes in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top division of Azerbaijani football. Founded in Aghdam in the Karabakh region, the club has been based in Baku since 1993, following the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Qarabag plays at the Azersun Arena and Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium, venues also used by the Azerbaijan national team.
