Guadalajara Chivas compete in Liga MX, Mexico's top division, playing home matches at Estadio Akron. Founded in 1906 as Unión Football Club, the team adopted its current name in 1923 and was among ten founding members of Liga Mayor, Mexico's first professional national league. Chivas remains one of seven Mexican clubs never to have been relegated.
